BELLINGHAM CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Bellingham City Council
will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 7:00 PM, or
as soon thereafter as possible during their Regular City Council meeting, which
will take place remotely (please note the remote meeting location, which is
contrary to the public hearing notice published in the May 8 Bellingham Herald
inadvertently stating this meeting would take place in Council Chambers), to
take public comment on the following:
The 6-Year Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP) is adopted annually to plan and program public funding toward
capital improvements to Bellingham's multimodal transportation network. State
law (RCW 35.77.010) requires cities to adopt the TIP before July 1 each year.
The DRAFT 2021-2026 TIP is based on Public Works staff and Bellingham
Transportation Commission recommendations. Public Works posted the DRAFT
2021-2026 TIP on the City web site on May 4, 2020 and will present it to the
Bellingham Transportation Commission at a public meeting on May 12, 2020.
Public Works staff will present details and funding for all projects listed in
the DRAFT 2021-2026 TIP, followed by a public hearing. A City Council work
session to consider adoption of the DRAFT 2021-2026 TIP will be held on June 8,
2020.

invited to do so. Advanced testimony by mail, email, and telephone is accepted
and strongly encouraged by sending comments to the Council Office, 210 Lottie
Street, ccmail@cob.org, phone (360) 778-8200 or fax (360) 778-8101 to be
received prior to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020, to be included in the
agenda packet. Comment received after that will be distributed to Council but
not included in the published packet. Anyone wishing to testify live during the
public hearing can do so by joining the remote meeting at the following link: https://www.cob.org/ccph.
This link
can be used before the meeting to pre-register or during the meeting to
register and immediately join the meeting.
